JMA is excited to be awarded a $5,000 STEM Action Grant, the highest possible grant amount, in partnership with the Society for Science! The Society for Science is a nonprofit promoting educational advancement and oversees the Regeneron ISEF competition.

The STEM Action Grant program aims to develop an inclusive STEM talent pool by strengthening and improving outcomes for underrepresented groups in STEM education and careers. Funds from this grant will help us continue our work making STEM education and mentorship accessible to hundreds of students across the nation from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Our partnership with the Society for Science is grounded in the knowledge that educational mentorship is one of the largest factors in helping keep students out of jail and poverty and decreasing their risk of abuse. This is why JMA pairs volunteer student mentors with those in need of academic guidance, in addition to other programs that provide medical curricula, educational materials and Wi-Fi access to those without. Our $5,000 grant will enable the program to reach an additional 1,000 disadvantaged students in the United States.
