Consultative relationship with the UN ECOSOC enables one of its bodies to seek expert information or advice from organizations, like JMA, with special competence in a subject matter; special consultative status is granted to NGOs which have a special competence in, and are concerned specifically with, unique fields of activity covered by the ECOSOC.
As a Special Consultaive Status NGO, JMA will have the ability to designate official representatives to the United Nations Headquarters in New York and the United Nations Offices at Geneva and Vienna to participate in events/meetings.
With an extensive network among developing countries and disadvantaged regions throughout multiple continents, particularly the African continent, JMA aims to help advocate for many of the communities of students from disadvantaged backgrounds that we have worked with, and ensure that barriers to their education/success are accurately represented, understood, and tackled.
As champions of our grassroots student-model, JMA will be advocating for further adoption of student-led, grassroots educational movements in developing regions to best promote educational access. It is a profound privilege to be presented with this honor — JMA is grateful for this opportunity!
